The Webster City girls golf team got their season off on the right foot, scoring a dual victory over Manson Northwest Webster here Tuesday at Links Public Golf Course, 220-251.

Ellie Peterson earned medalist honors with a low round score of 51, as Kenley Koop and Alleyna Dawson shared runner-up status after each fired a 53.

Abigail Heckert followed with a 63 while Haydin Sealine had a 66 and Sophie Dinsdale recorded a 70.

“It was good to get out and get a win,” WCHS head coach Jeff Lyons said. “Now we have a couple of weeks to work on things and try to see improvements when we get back out on the course.”

The Lynx play next on April 22 when they host Humboldt and Clear Lake in a North Central Conference triangular.
