Lynx boys earn victory at the nets
The Webster City boys tennis team scored a 7-2 victory over St. Edmond here last Thursday evening.
The Lynx won all seven contested matches, as the Gaels picked up two forfeit victories.
Hank Christeson, Nathan Wardell, Jesse Toftee, James Elliott and Zayden Card earned singles wins.
“It was great to see Hank get the win on Senior Night,” WCHS head coach Mark Fisher said. “He started out a little tight in his match but made some great adjustments and played some really good points. He has come a long way in four years.
“I was also pleased with how Nathan played. He was aggressive, had a solid game plan and you could see the progress he’s made in his game.”
In doubles, Christeson and Wardell, along with Toftee and Elliott, were winners.
“Hank and Nathan continue to develop their chemistry in doubles,” Fisher said. “James and Jesse also showed their growing chemistry and played with great effort.”
Webster City heads to Nevada on Tuesday.
