Hawks run at Markert Relays

MANSON — The South Hamilton boys and girls track and field teams were in action here last Thursday night at the Emily Markert Relays hosted by Manson Northwest Webster.

Both teams finished fourth overall in the standings.

For the South Hamilton boys, the 4×400-meter relay picked up the lone first place finish, crossing home in 3:35.84.

Davien Henderson, Braden Young, Hayden Hill and Tanner Twedt all earned runner-up medals, as did the 4×200-meter relay.

Henderson was second in the discus, Young in the long jump, Hill in the 3,200 and Twedt in the 200. Jesus Garcia earned third in the 3,200, as did the sprint medley, with the 4×800 placing fourth.

The Hawks girls had three runner-ups, as Tessa Skartvedt was second in the shot put, Cici Herrick second in the 400 and the distance medley relay. Skartvedt also added a fourth in the discus.

Running on the distance medley relay were Riah Van De Pol, Sara Scheller, Brooklyn Doolittle and Olivia Beaune.

Bianca Seaton (800) was third along with the sprint medley, 4×200 and 4×400 relays. The sprint medley consisted of Sydnee Flaugh, Scheller, Van De Pol and Herrick; the 4×200 was Flaugh, Van De Pol, Scheller and Doolittle; and the 4×400 was Herrick, Rosemary Chamness, Doolittle and Beaune.

South Hamilton runs on Tuesday at the Ballard Bomber Relays.
