Lynx will be in 3A-1 for football

The Webster City football team recently received its district assignment for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.

The Lynx will be joined by Algona, Humboldt, Sioux City Heelan, MOC-Floyd Valley and Sioux Center in Class 3A, District 1, beginning this fall.

Head coach Andy Brim’s squad went 3-6 overall last season, posting a 2-3 mark in District 2. Webster City defeated Hampton-Dumont/CAL and Charles City, while falling to Clear Lake, Algona and Humboldt.

The Bulldogs and Wildcats are the only other squads making the move with the Lynx to District 1.

Seniors Aiden Hrnicek, Jaxon Griffith, Beau Nohrenberg, Cole Nohrenberg, Cody Elliott, Eli Estlund, Gavin Wynkoop, Carter Mickelson, Jamey Stansfield, Logan Willson, Jaden Houk, Nate Beaulieu, Cael Alexander, Nolan Naso, Angel Ramirez-Trujillo, Hunter Vue, Dawson Bertran and Adison Punkham are all slated to return next fall, alongside 2025-26 juniors Kaleb Hansen, Coy Bertran, Alex Staley, Israel Torres, Zach Lahr, Grant Arends, Salamon Inthisane, Brayden Babington, Luke Blake, Jack Randall, Edwin Ramos Nolasco, Tristan Bohl, Gryffan Stevens, Yerik Vasquez, Efrain Calles-Arnaiz, Ayden Elliott and John Wilwerding.

Among the returnees, Cole Nohrenberg, Estlund, Griffith and Torres were first team all-district selections a year ago. Hrnicek and Mickelson were on the second squad.
