The Webster City boys basketball team earned their third victory in four games with a 50-44 home win over Clarion-Goldfield/Dows at home on Friday.

Three players reached double figures for the Lynx, who improved to 7-11 overall with the North Central Conference triumph. The Cowboys are now 6-14.

“We made a couple of adjustments at halftime, and the guys came out in the second half and really executed,” said WCHS head coach Brett Ratcliff. “It’s really important to continue to improve and prepare for the postseason. We talk about playing your best basketball in late February, and I think we are doing that.

“We still have three opportunities to improve before the tournament starts. But I think the kids are staying focused and just competing and playing hard evey time out.”

Matthew Tesdahl led the Lynx with 12 points. Cole Miller added 11 points, while Gavin Griffith turned in a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Miller had seven boards as well.

Webster City visits No. 7 (Class 1A) St. Edmond on Tuesday.

Starting at $3.46/week.
