FORT DODGE — The Webster City girls put together some impressive stretches of play here Tuesday night, but turnovers ultimately led to a 57-50 setback for the Lynx at the hands of St. Edmond.

Marissa Hedeen scored a game-high 23 points with six 3-pointers, as Olivia Gallentine added 14 points. Hedeen also had seven rebounds, two blocked shots and a pair of steals.

For the Gaels, Chloe Palmer scored 16, Payton Bradley had 14 and Josie Harvey 11.

Webster City used buckets by Hedeen and Gallentine to take an early 12-6 lead before St. Edmond rallied to go into the break up 27-24.

It was a back-and-forth third, as Hedeen sank two triples while Gallentine and Lovie Pruismann each had one, but the Lynx still trailed, 42-38.

Hedeen would get on from deep in the fourth to nearly pull off the comeback, knocking down three 3-pointers and finishing the quarter with 10 of Webster City’s 12 points scored.

Pruismann and Evie Davis each had four points with five rebounds while Tristyn Wright also had five boards.

The Lynx head to Perry on Thursday night.
