LEAGUE HONORS
Webster City's Gallentine, Hedeen recognized by the NCC

Olivia Gallentine and Marissa Hedeen ended their Webster City basketball careers just like they did in the fall following volleyball.
The Lynx seniors were named to the all-North Central Conference, with Gallentine making the second team and Hedeen the third.
Algona, the regular season conference champions for a second straight season, had two on the first in Lauren McLaughlin and Hayden Kuhlmann. Humboldt’s Morgan Mann and Ava Fischer, Jordan Valley from Hampton-Dumont/CAL and Clear Lake’s Madi Ott rounded out the team.
McLaughlin, Kuhlmann, Mann and Valley were all unanimous selections.
Gallentine ranked eighth in the league in scoring with 130 points in 12 game, adding 75 rebounds, 43 assists and 13 steals. Her assists number placed her second overall while she was sixth in rebounds.
“Olivia was our leader on and off the floor all year,” McKinney said. “She led us in scoring, rebounding and assists along with being our main ball handler and one of our main defenders. Most nights, she was playing all 32 minutes.
“Olivia is also a standout in the classroom. She qualified for the academic all-state team as well as being named to the academic all-conference team.”
Hedeen finished with 79 points in the NCC, adding 53 rebounds, 18 assists, seven blocks and six steals.
“Marissa was our main threat from the 3-point line,” McKinney said. “She made 83 three-pointers in her career while also grabbing 204 career rebounds.
“Both girls were also named first team all-NCC for volleyball in the fall and have made a huge impact on our program, as well as our school.”
