FORT DODGE — Early shooting from deep helped the Webster City boys hang with fifth-ranked (Class 1A) St. Edmond here Tuesday night for a while before the Gaels pulled away.
Hunter Horn scored 38 points, with 20 coming in the third quarter, as St. Edmond claimed a 68-38 victory.
Cole Miller led the Lynx with 10 points, sinking a pair of 3-pointers in the first half. Webster City erased an early deficit, climbing to within six on the heels of a 9-0 run.
But the Gaels answered behind Horn and Jakob Koopman, as the juniors scored all 37 points for the team in the second and third quarters combined.
Carter Mickelson had six for the Lynx with Conner Peck adding five. Gavin Griffith and Alex Staley each had four.
Peck had a team-high six rebounds.
Webster City, which is now 7-12 overall, hosts Humboldt on Friday.
