Webster City boys can’t catch Manson NW Webster

MANSON — A slow start forced the Webster City boys to play from behind here Friday night.

In the end, the Lynx were unable to overcome that early 10-point deficit, falling to Manson Northwest Webster to begin play in 2025, 65-54.

The Cougars led 22-12 after the first eight minutes of play, as the Lynx were able to trim that lead down to eight at the break. Manson NW outscored Webster City in the third, 15-11, to seize control.

Conner Peck had a team-high 13 points for the Lynx, with Cole Miller adding 10. Carter Mickelson and Gavin Griffith each scored eight, Matthew Tesdahl added seven and both Jaxon Griffith and Luke Firsching finished with four.

The Lynx had won five straight in the series, as this marked the first win for the Cougars over WCHS since 2015.

Up next for Webster City will be Clear Lake at home on Tuesday night.

Starting at $3.46/week.
