Two straight for Hawks
JEFFERSON — The South Hamilton girls finished off a perfect week with a 53-20 victory over Greene County last Friday night.
The Hawks used a strong first quarter to gain hold of the contest, outscoring Perry, 10-4.
“It was a really good night for our team,” South Hamilton head coach Mark Henderson said. “We played well together as a team and came away with another conference win. We know Greene County is struggling with some injuries right now, so we wanted to focus on how we played and not necessarily what the final score was. I thought the girls did a nice job of communicating on defense, pushing the tempo and executing on offense.
“This was also a game where we got to get some extended playing time for our girls off the bench. They have been doing a great job of staying ready all year, so I was happy to see them get some more minutes in this one. As a group they accounted for 13 points and 20 rebounds, which are great numbers to see.”
Kaylen Trask scored 20 points while Emma Lammers added 10. The duo combined to make five 3-pointers.
Tessa Skartvedt had 12 rebounds with two blocks and Trask grabbed nine boards, five of which came on the offensive end.
Lillie Ammerman, Isabel Swenson and Aliya Erickson each had three assists.
South Hamilton took on Southeast Valley Monday night and heads to Nevada next Friday night.
