Lynx upset bid falls short

The Webster City boys rallied here Monday night before coming up short against No. 9 Nevada, 57-54.

The Lynx (3-7 overall) outscored the Cubs (10-1) in the second half, 33-22, but were unable to overcome a 14-point halftime deficit.

Nevada has won two of the three matchups all-time between the two, including a 60-45 victory last year. Webster City won the first encounter back in 2019, 74-50.

Senior Cole Miller is the leading scorer for the Lynx, averaging 12 point per game and pulling down 4.4 rebounds.

Senior Conner Peck (8.1) and junior Carter Mickelson (8.0) are next in line in scoring for the Lynx.

The Lynx took on Southeast Valley Tuesday night and return to North Central Conference play on Friday when they host St. Edmond.
