Lynx can’t catch Humboldt boys
HUMBOLDT — The Webster City boys battled back here Friday night but were unable to overcome Humboldt, falling in North Central Conference play, 81-59.
The Lynx cut a 40-14 halftime deficit down to 13 before the Wildcats were able to put the game away. Humboldt jumped out to a 21-10 advantage after the opening eight minutes.
Gavin Griffith had a double-double for the Lynx with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Cole Miller had 12 points, while Matthrew Tesdahl checked in with 11. Tesdahl had seven rebounds and five assists.
Mason Van Pelt led the Wildcats with 23 points and five rebounds. Elliot Carlson had 15 points and five rebounds, while Coen Matson and Jackson Flaherty had 11 points each and six and five rebounds respectively.
The Lynx host Iowa Falls-Alden on Tuesday and close out the week at Algona next Friday.
