The Webster City girls used a nice first quarter to take an early lead on No. 12 Hampton-Dumont/CAL here Tuesday night.

Unfortunately for the upset-minded Lynx, the Bulldogs recovered, claiming a 45-25 victory.

Webster City (2-12 overall, 0-7 in North Central Conference) led 12-11 after the opening eight minutes before Hampton-Dumont/CAL (13-1, 6-1) went on a 28-5 run over the second and third quarters.

Down in the fourth, the Lynx were able to outscore the Bulldogs, 8-6.

Webster City returns to action on Friday when they travel to Humboldt.
