Lynx boys can’t hold off Southeast Valley

GOWRIE — The Webster City boys dropped a tough 63-52 decision to Southeast Valley here Tuesday night.

Leading at the half by one point, the Lynx were unable to keep the momentum going, as the Jaguars took a 46-40 lead into the fourth and went on to prevail.

Cole Miller and Conner Peck both reached double figures for Webster City, with Miller scoring 16 points and Peck adding 15.

Luke Firsching added eight points, Jaxon Griffith six and Matthew Tesdahl three. Carter Mickelson and Aiden Hrnicek each chipped in two points.

The Lynx erased a three-point deficit after the first period, taking a 32-31 lead into the break.

Drake Warland paced Southeast Valley with a game-high 31 points.

Webster City returns to action on Friday when they host ninth-ranked (Class 1A) St. Edmond in North Central Conference play.
