Hawk girls push win streak to 3
GOWRIE — The South Hamilton girls secured win No. 5 on the season with a convincing 46-25 decision over Southeast Valley here Monday night.
It was a fast start for the Hawks, as they outscored the Jaguars in the opening quarter, 22-0. South Hamilton (5-7 overall) took a 27-3 lead into the break.
Isabel Swenson paced the Hawks with 13 points and eight rebounds. The team was balanced the rest of the way through, with Rosemary Chamness (8 points), Kaylen Trask (7), Aliya Erickson (6) and Tessa Skartvedt (6) all contributing.
South Hamilton also dominated the glass, with Skartvedt (9 rebounds), Trask (9) and Swenson (8) leading the way.
Lillie Ammerman dished out four assists.
The Hawks have won three in a row now overall and four of the last five matchups with the Jaguars. Since 2011, South Hamilton is 6-3 vs. Southeast Valley.
Up next for the Hawks will be Nevada on Friday night.
