Gaels stop Lynx boys
The Webster City boys were unable to overcome a tough second quarter, falling to St. Edmond here Friday night, 68-47.
Matthew Tesdahl scored 17 points to lead the Lynx (3-9 overall, 2-4 in the North Central Conference), who have dropped six in a row since a late-December win over Algona. Tesdahl also dished out four assists.
Carter Mickelson added 11 points, and Gavin Griffith had eight points off the bench. Webster City was outscored in the second quarter, 21-5, after hanging tough in the first.
Cole Miller contributed five rebounds. Conner Peck recorded four steals.
Following the opening eight minutes, the Lynx trailed by just nine to the No. 9 (Class 1A) Gaels.
Hunter Horn scored a game-high 28 points, dropping 22 in the second half, to lead St. Edmond, who finished last week off 4-0 with four road wins.
The Gaels out-rebounded the Lynx, 42-15.
Webster City returns to action on Tuesday when they host Hampton-Dumont/CAL. They also head to Humboldt Friday.
