IOWA FALLS — Everything was clicking for the Webster City boys here Friday night, as the Lynx rolled past Hampton-Dumont/CAL, 50-17.

Cole Miller scored 16 points, knocking down four 3-pointers, as Carter Mickelson added 11. Matthew Tesdahl had seven points and seven rebounds with five steals for Webster City (2-2 overall, 1-0 in North Central Conference).

The game was tied at 7-all after the first with the Lynx holding a six-point lead at the break. Following halftime, it was all WCHS, as they outscored the Bulldogs 30-3 over the final 16 minutes of play.

“The guys were mentally locked in,” Webster City head coach Brett Radcliff said. “We knew we would have to defend well. I thought we shared the ball well, and the energy and effort were there.”

Jamey Stansfield added five points off the bench while Conner Beck had four points with three assists and three steals. Mickelson also had four steals and four rebounds.

Webster City made eight 3-pointers and recorded 19 steals, dishing out 15 assists on 19 made field goals.

Since 2015, the Lynx have lost just once to Hampton-Dumont/CAL, which came last year in the first meeting, 49-43.

Webster was coming off a 59-52 loss at North Polk the night before besting the Bulldogs, as Miller scored 14 with Mickelson adding 11 and Peck seven. Miller also had seven rebounds as both Peck and Mickelson dished out four assists each.

The Lynx close out their pre-Christmas portion of the schedule on Friday at home vs. Algona.
