Cadets pull away from Lynx boys
IOWA FALLS — After keeping pace with Iowa Falls-Alden for three quarters here Tuesday night, the Webster City boys went cold in the fourth, dropping a 65-30 decision.
Down by 12 entering the final eight minutes, the Lynx were outscored, 25-2.
Luke Firsching had a team-high 11 points with five rebounds while Gavin Griffith and Conner Peck each scored five. Peck also had six rebounds and Cole Miller five, as Carter Mickelson dished out three assists.
Webster City battled Iowa Falls-Alden on the glass, as each team finished with 23 rebounds. The Lynx committed 17 turnovers, which were four more than the Cadets, who had 13 steals.
Kale Kalous led a balanced IF-A effort with 16 points. Karsen Kalous added 14 and Calvin Hutchinson scored 11. Carter DeBates had five rebounds and Hutchinson four with three assists.
Webster City looks to get back in the win column when they close out 2024 back at home vs. Algona on Friday night.
