Lynx honor senior volleyball players

The Webster City volleyball team honored their seniors here this past Thursday night, scoring a sweep over Clarion-Goldfield/Dows in North Central Conference action.

Scores were 25-15, 25-15 and 25-13.

Prior to the match, the Lynx (14-10 overall) recognized Cloe Savitski, Olivia Gallentine, Marissa Hedeen, Adysen Poppen, Addilyn Orton and Breanna Bahrenfuss.

Poppen, who tore her ACL over the summer at a team camp, came in for the first serve and recorded an ace.

Gallentine led the way with nine kills, adding 14 assists, three aces and two digs. Hedeen had seven kills, three blocks, three digs and two aces while Avery Poppen added four kills, four digs and three blocks.

Tristyn Wright finished with four kills, 12 assists and an ace, Lovie Pruismann had three kills, three digs and a block, Orton recorded two kills and Bahrenfuss one. Adysen Poppen had an ace on her lone serve attempt.

Savitski led the team with 15 digs, Wright had seven and Alivia Burns three. Hackbarth had three aces while Savitski and Hailey Brim each had two.

“It was great to get back in the win column,” WCHS head coach Jess Howard said. “The girls came out strong and we rebounded quickly from Tuesday’s loss.

“We played solid on both offense and defense.”

Webster City opens Class 4A regional play on Tuesday back here vs. Boone.
