Larry Martin

Larry Martin, 75, of Webster City died Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 12 at the MAC Life Church in Blairsburg. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. prior to the service. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.

Larry Gene Martin, son of Marion and Arlene (Anderson) Martin, was born April 18, 1949 in Webster City. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1967 and attended college in Mason City. Larry served in the United Stated Army for three years, serving in Germany. He achieved the rank of SGT E-5 and was honorably discharged. On December 23, 1972, he was united in marriage to Holly Gardner in Kirksville, Missouri. The couple lived in the Webster City area where he farmed and worked in the crop insurance industry.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Holly of Webster City; sons, Sam (Dawnyal) Martin of Cross River, NY, Andy (Liz) Martin of Lakewood, CO; grandchildren, Katherine, Alexander, Luke and Gavin; sisters, Sandy (Pat) Chambers of Webster City, Gayle Martin of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; brother, Troy (April) Martin of Ames, IA; sisters-in-law, Vicki (Lonnie) Rager of Greentop, MO, Joy Mahurin of Peoria, IL and several nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Arlene and his nephew, Dakota Martin Faso.

He was a member of the MAC Life Church and looked forward to eternal life in heaven with his Savior. Larry loved being a good neighbor and helping them in any way he could. He enjoyed fishing, riding his red Can-am and most importantly he loved the time spent with his grandkids.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to MAC Life Church.
