Robert Asklund
Robert “Bob” Asklund, 82, of Webster City, died Sunday, February 23, 2025. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Robert Glen Asklund, son of Elmer and Lillian (Harker) Asklund, was born June 7, 1942, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He graduated from Lincoln high school in 1961 and attended Webster City Junior College graduating in 1964. On November 6, 1964, Bob was united in marriage to Sue Shaeffer at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City. He served in the United States Army National Guard for six years. Bob was employed with Nissen Co. for 24 years, Ames Process Foods and Mort’s Water Company prior to retiring in 2004.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sue; sons, Brian (Catherine) Asklund of Nevada, Jason Asklund of Webster City; grandchildren, Brittany, Samantha, Skye, Riley, Caitlyn, Conner; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Hendrix, Lillith, Sebastian, Ace, Callum; sister, Sherryl (Ernie) Rairdin of Cedar Rapids and many extended family members.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sam and Dode Shaeffer and a sister in infancy, Elsie Asklund.
He enjoyed golfing, bowling and was a past member of the Jaycees.
