Rebecca Cretsinger

Rebecca “Becky” Leanne Cretsinger passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Visitation for friends and family will be held from 2-5pm, Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Iles Grandview Park Chapel, 3211 Hubbell Avenue, Des Moines. A celebration of life will be held at Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines, at 11am, Monday, February 24, 2025 with additional visitation beginning at 10am. Burial will be 3pm, Monday at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City, with a reception to follow at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Rebecca Leanne Cretsinger was born January 4, 1969, in Japan, where her father was serving in the U.S. Navy. Becky graduated from Webster City High School in 1987, attended Iowa State University and graduated from Grand View College with her BSN in December 1994. She worked at UnityPoint for 35 years.

On April 24, 1999, Becky was united in marriage to Troy Cretsinger. She was the heart of her family, blessed with 5 children: Zachary, Amber, Samantha, Cody and Timothy.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Orton Jr; mother, Janice Gordon Hayes; step-father, Steve Hayes; grandparents Kenneth and Beulah Gordon, and Dale Sr. and Dorothy Orton.

Cherishing her memory are her husband of 25 years, Troy Cretsinger of Des Moines; her children, Zachary Cretsinger of Des Moines, Amber Cretsinger of Adel, Samantha Cretsinger of Des Moines, Cody Cretsinger of Des Moines, and Timothy (Clare) Cretsinger of Scotland; her sister, Brenda (Lee) Belt of Catoosa, OK; step siblings, Kris Hayes Pearson (Mike) of Wisconsin and Bob (Diane) Hayes of Wisconsin; her in-laws, Doug and Connie Cretsinger of Grimes, and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends who have become family over the years.
