Cheryl Patrou

November 3, 1947 – February 24, 2025

Cheryl Lynn Patrou, a beloved wife, mother, grandma, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering family devotion. Born on November 3, 1947, in Waverly, Iowa, Cheryl was a shining light in the lives of all who knew her.

In 1983, she met the love of her life, Peter Patrou, and together they built a life full of cherished memories. Their love story led them to a beautiful wedding in Kona, Hawaii, in 1998, a moment that perfectly reflected Cheryl’s vibrant spirit and deep love for adventure.

Cheryl was the heart of her family, the one who brought everyone together, whether cheering on the Northeast Hamilton Trojans or celebrating the joy of the annual Seiser Family Christmas. She had a passion for history and giving back, dedicating much of her time as a volunteer at the Wilson Brewer Park. She was a true treasure hunter, never missing a chance to explore flea markets in search of unique finds.

Her love for music, especially Willie Nelson, was well known, and there was no better place for her than jamming out at Ipava. Summers at Clear Lake and family reunions were among her happiest times, surrounded by those she loved most.

She is survived by her loving husband, Peter; her children, Robert (Amy) Seiser, John (Laura) Seiser, David (Marna) Seiser, Rebecca Seiser, and Deborah Larson; her brothers, David, Kevin, and Steve; her sisters, Terri and Maureen. She was blessed with 20 grandchildren and 40 (and counting!) great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and countless other family members who will miss her dearly.

Waiting to welcome her in Heaven with open arms are her parents Ellis & Earleen Smith, her son Ricky, her sister Pam, and great-grandsons Holden and Konrad.

Cheryl was our sunshine, the pillar of our family, the one who made every gathering warmer, every laugh louder, and every moment more meaningful. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort in knowing her light will continue to shine through the love she shared with us all.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Foster’s Funeral Home for the public, followed by a private funeral service for the family. To celebrate Cheryl’s life, the family encourages you to take a moment to enjoy your favorite song, visit a flea market, or simply cherish the time spent with loved ones–just as she always did.
