Louise Bowden

Louise Bowden, 94, of Iowa Falls formerly of Williams died Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Ashbrook Assisted Living in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Burial to follow in the Williams Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Ellen Louise Hoeppner, daughter of Henry and Arthelia (Mullenix) Hoeppner, was born February 21, 1930 in Cherokee. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Webster City and attended Webster City Junior College. On July 9, 1950, Louise was united in marriage to Richard William Bowden in Webster City. The couple farmed in the Kamrar and Williams area until retiring in 1993.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Cross of Baxter; son, Keith Bowden of Alden; daughter-in-law, Detty Bowden of California; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Loretta (Bob) Hill of Eagle Grove, Pam (Gary) Eide of Chillicothe, MO and Mary Lou Tate of Agency.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 2017; son, Kevin Bowden; daughter-in-law, Mona Bowden; siblings, Euana McDonald, Eddie “Bud” Hoeppner, Raymond Hoeppner, Larry Hoeppner, and Darlene McNielly.

She was a member of the Community Church of Kamrar. Louise was a member of the Williams Tea Club, and various church circles. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, wintering in Arizona for many years and spending time with her grandchildren.
