Betty Dykstra

Beatrice “Betty” Dykstra, 93, of Burr Ridge, Illinois, formerly a long-time resident of Webster City, Iowa, died on January 09, 2025. Betty was born July 13, 1931, in Mitchell, South Dakota, to Gertrude and Clinton Hartwick. Betty received her nursing degree from Creighton University. Betty met Wilfred “Bill” Dykstra while caring for him in the hospital. They were married on September 24, 1951. Betty and Bill moved to Webster City, Iowa, in 1967. She worked at the Webster City Country Club, Olson Pharmacy and Williams Snyder Drug before retiring to care for Bill. Betty moved to Burr Ridge, Illinois, on April 22, 2016, to receive care and support as her health required.

She found great peace, happiness and a sense of true community while living in Webster City. She had a special place in her heart for the parishioners of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and the many members of the Webster City Rotary Club who welcomed her so graciously.

Betty and Bill had six children and have many grand and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, (Donald, William and Harold); husband, Wilfred; son, Wayne and grandsons, Joshua and Jay.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Foster Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 4 to 6 P.M at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Webster City.
