Pat Brinkema

Pat Brinkema, 93, of Kamrar, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, November 16, at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation, in Webster City, Iowa. Private family services will be held at a later date. The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com), to care for their needs.

Patricia Ann McCoy, the daughter of Harold and Velma Mae (George) McCoy, was born on June 24, 1931, in Joliet, IL. She attended school in Johnston, Iowa, and graduated from Johnston High School in 1950. In 1951 she moved to Webster City. Pat worked at JCPenney’s, Spurgeon’s and as a dental assistant for Dr. Dickason. On June 28, 1953, she married Carl E. Brinkema at the Church of Christ in Webster City. The couple resided in the town of Kamrar, where Pat was a homemaker, worked at the Mink Plant in Jewell, babysitter, waitress, and cleaned housed.

Pat was a member of the Community Church of Kamrar. She served as a Cub Scout Den Mother, while her children were young, enjoyed church activities, socializing, going out to eat, shopping, playing darts, animals, the holidays, cooking, and taking care of her family. She will be remembered for her big heart, her compassion for others, sense of humor, smile, and her love for Jesus.

Pat’s family includes her sons: Jeff of Kamrar, and Jim of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; daughter Jennie of Kamrar. She was preceded in death by Carl, husband of 60 years; her parents, grandparents and siblings.
