Owen James Renaud was born on August 1, 2005, to Scott and Lisa Renaud in Ames, Iowa, and came home to older siblings Grace and Garret.

Owen was a witty, honorable, disciplined, determined, honest, compassionate, and dependable son, grandson, brother, friend, and teammate. Owen is survived by his parents, Scott and Lisa Renaud of Alden, his sister Grace (Garrett) Hoover of Canby, OR, and brother Garret Renaud (girlfriend Haley Fuller). In addition, Owen had several grandparents, Miriam Renaud and James and Rhonda Ostheimer, and a loving girlfriend Makena Galetich. Owen is survived by his uncles, aunts, cousins, and his everlasting friends.

Before graduating from South Hamilton High School, Owen had the best childhood. Owen was a true farm kid at heart and oftentimes was found driving his battery-powered Gator, playing with cousins, and being out in the fields with his dad. Owen's interests grew as he did, adding fishing, hunting, trapping, football, lifting weights, and entrepreneurship to his list of hobbies.

Owen had the most wholesome experience at South Hamilton High School. There, Owen was poured into by faculty and mentors and surrounded by loving friends. In high school, Owen was involved in football, basketball, FFA, and many other activities. Above all other high school activities, Owen flourished in football which can be credited to his intentional efforts on and off the field. The highlights of Owen’s high school career were playing home games at Taylor Field and participating in the 2024 Iowa Shrine Bowl (north squad).

Upon graduation from South Hamilton High School, Owen planned to attend the University of North Dakota to play football and study aviation. Owen’s senior summer was spent doing vigorous football workouts and acquiring his private pilot’s license. Owen's long-term goals were to join his brother in their seed, chemical, and application business and eventually farm with his brother, dad, and uncles.

Owen was truly a child of God whose impact will be everlastingly imprinted on those who knew him best. Although some may only see his accomplishments on the field and in the classroom, Owen’s greatest accomplishment was an unwavering faith. Owen read through the Bible twice and was just beginning his third read-through. He believed in living a life that matched God’s Word.

With his dear Uncle Jesse Ostheimer, Owen was called to his eternal home doing what they loved, flying. In addition to aviation, Owen enjoyed scuba diving and ultimately became an advanced open-water diver. His adventures took him to many places. His favorites were Banff, Kauai, and Bermuda, but his ultimate love was Aruba with Kaden Schwandt.

Owen was preceded in death by his grandparents Edmund Renaud and Judy Ostheimer, great-grandparents Robert and Wilma Ostheimer and Helen Sorensen, great-great- grandmother Anabel Ostheimer, and his cousin Brett Halvorsen.
