Jonathan Olson
STANHOPE — Jonathan Olson, 37, of Stanhope, died Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Unity Point – Iowa Methodist in Des Moines. Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth, with Pastor Jon Rollefson, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with caring for the family.
Jonathan Eugene Olson, son of Bob and Marcella (Turner) Olson, was born on November 13, 1984, in Chariton. He graduated from South Hamilton High School in 2003. After high school, Jonathan worked at the local grocery store in Ellsworth, McDonalds in Story City, and was the manager of Sparky’s in Stanhope for a number of years. He was always polite, courteous, and kind to all the customers he met. On May 21, 2009, Jonathan was united in marriage to Jennifer Hove in Webster City. He loved animals, especially dogs. If there was a stray running around, he would take it in. He enjoyed family time with his wife and daughter, and especially enjoyed summer when he could spend time with Lillian on summer break from school. Jon was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ellsworth.
Those left to cherish his life are his wife of 13 years, Jennifer; his daughter, Lillian; parents, Bob and Marcella Olson of Ellsworth; brother, Nicholas Olson of Webster City; grandmothers, Peggy Turner and Becky Olson; uncles, Loren Turner and Maurice Turner, Jr. and father-in-law, Roger Hove of Stanhope.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his Grandpa Maurice Turner, Sr. and Grandpa Wayne Olson.
