Officials with Van Diest Medical Center and MercyOne Iowa Heart Center held an open house and ribbon cutting Wednesday morning to celebrate the opening of the new MercyOne Iowa Heart Center cardiology clinic at Van Diest Medical Center. The clinic offers area patients easy access to cardiology care, including diagnostic services, consultations, and ongoing management of heart conditions. MercyOne Iowa Heart Clinic opened at VDMC in October, in an area near the Specialty Clinic.  Dr. Denise Sorrentino, an electrophysiologist with MercyOne Iowa Heart Center, and Lisa Ridge, Chief Executive Officer, center, wielded the large pair of scissors to cut the ribbon. Looking on, from the left, are Alisa Winkel, Iowa Heart clinic manager, Laurie Johnson, sonographer, Erin Mobley, R.N., Katie Vansickle, nuclear med tech, and Courtney Anderson, patient access and other Iowa Heart staff members. Also attending were members of the Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce, county officials, community members, and VDMC staff members.
