Thursday Daily Freeman-Journal will be e-edition only

Due to the national postal holiday on Thursday, the January 9 edition of the Daily Freeman-Journal will be produced as an e-edition only.

That means there will not be a printed paper on January 9.

Readers will be able to access the newspaper online only.

The U.S. Postal Service is closing all post office locations and suspending regular mail delivery Thursday for former President Jimmy Carter’s national day of mourning.

Financial markets, including the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq, will also be closed.

Carter died on December 29 at age 100; President Joe Biden declared January 9 the day of mourning, which is usually treated like a federal holiday.

Biden issued an executive order closing federal agencies and offices on Jan. 9 as well.

Carter was the country’s longest-living former president.

Starting at $3.46/week.
