Learn the art of deer processing and jerky making
You can learn how properly process deer meat or prepare venison during a training on Saturday, January 18, at the Conservation Office, 2490 Briggs Woods Trail, Webster City.
This event is from 10 a.m. to noon.
The Deer Processing and Jerky Making Workshop is perfect for both beginners and seasoned hunters. Participants will learn essential techniques, including: Cutting, grinding and packaging venison; mixing sausage and jerky recipes; and exploring different methods of preparation.
“Meat processing is a skill deeply rooted in our history, and it’s a rewarding way to make the most of your harvest,” John Laird, naturalist, Hamilton County Conservation, said.
