Hamilton County has a new sheriff and two new supervisors, all three of whom were officially sworn in Thursday morning during a reorganization meeting.

District Court Judge James McGlynn led the oath of office. Also sworn in for a new term was veteran Hamilton County Auditor Kim Schaa.

Alex Pruismann is the new sheriff. He replaces now-retired Sheriff Doug Timmons.

April Ely and Mary Clausen are the two new supervisors. Ely replaces now-retired Supervisor Dan Campidilli; Clausen replaces Jerry Kloberdanz, who lost his seat to Clausen in the 2024 election.

Supervisor Rick Young, chairman of the board for 2025, led the reorganization meeting, which lasted about a half hour. Ely was elected chairman pro tem.

Before adjourning, Young forecast that 2025 would be a good year.

Ely thanked Campidilli for letting her learn from him in the months leading up to Thursday’s transition.
