Former Eagle Grove officer charged with sending images to a minor
EAGLE GROVE — A former Eagle Grove police officer has been arrested and accused of sending explicit images to a minor while he was on duty.
Colt Richardson, 27, was arrested on Monday and charged with dissemination and exhibition of obscene material to a minor.
According to court documents, Richardson sent two images of his genitals over Snapchat to a minor on December 6, 2024.
The first image was sent while he was on duty at the Eagle Grove Police Department. The second image was sent while he was off duty.
According to the criminal complaint, Richardson knew that the individual he was sending the images to was a minor.
The Eagle Grove Police Department said that Richardson is no longer employed with them.
Richardson was denied court appointed counsel and his preliminary hearing has been scheduled for January 30 at 1:30 p.m. in Wright County District Court.
