CLARION — Theodore Miles Getting, son of Erica and Nicholas Getting, of Webster City, is the first baby born in 2025 at

Iowa Specialty Hospital.

He was born on January 1, 2025, at 8:12 a.m. He weighed 9 pounds, 0.05 ounces, was 21 inches long, and had hazel eyes.

The New Year baby joins two siblings at home: Thomas, 7, and Declan, 2.

“He’s perfect,” Erica Getting said.

Brittney Schafer, OB leader at Iowa Specialty, said, “We are excited to announce the first baby of the new year!” She added, “While 2024 comes to a close, our department reached a record year of deliveries. As the new year is upon us, our OB team continues to strive to provide exceptional care to our patients.”

In 2024, Iowa Specialty Hospital delivered 632 babies, which is the most ever delivered at the facility in one year, according to a media release from Iowa Specialty.
