The Angel Tree Ride returns
At American Tap, the holiday spirit is back on wheels
Last summer, the crew who have proved they love Christmas put thousands of dollars into the local holiday coffers by staging the first annual Angel Tree Ride.
That money was used to buy gifts for loads of Webster City kids, families and seniors who might otherwise not have something under the tree.
Well, they’re back.
Kickstands go up Saturday for the second annual Angel Tree Ride created by Webster City’s own American Tap and the dedicated Angel Tree Ride Committee of Wendy and Joe Clemens, owners of American Tap; Mandi and Andy Jones, Zach “Okie” Mussman and Tyler Moen.
“We love Webster City,” Joe Clemens said Tuesday.
One way he and his wife, Wendy Clemens, show that love is by organizing the Angel Tree Ride and all the fun that makes raising funds possible.
To get the event underway early, American Tap will take pre registrations for the Ride Thursday during Market Night. Just head on down to the 500 block of Second Street; pre registration will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. right out in front of American. You can also indulge in Joe Clemens’ new venture — J’Dubs BBQ — at the same time.
That custom made barbeque will not only be served up Thursday night during Market Night, but it will be a mainstay of sustenance once the bikes return from their ride on Saturday.
Here’s the schedule:
— 9 to 11 a.m., registration; $30 for motorcycles, $40 for side by sides.
— 11 a.m., wheels spinning, kickstands up.
— 3 p.m., silent auction at American Tap.
— 5:30 p.m., live auction at American Tap.
— 8 p.m., the Nathan Hansen Band will stage just south of American Tap for its performance.
T-shirts by Optic Ink will be available that day.
Joe Clemens said, “We’re hoping it gets bigger and bigger.”
