Marian Weldin turns 102 today

WILLIAMS — Marian Weldin was born August 14, 1922, near Osage, Iowa, to Henry and Louise Koschmeder. She was the fourth of eight children in a farm family.
Marian and her sweetheart, Wain Weldin, were married June 22, 1941. Wain was drafted in March 1942 and Marian traveled across the country for much of WWII to spend time with Wain as he was a troop trainer and was moved often.
After the war they farmed for a time, then Wain started working in a local locker. They decided to go into that line of business. They moved to Williams in 1956 and bought the Williams Locker in 1957.
Marian worked in the business as well as keeping the books.
Marian and Wain raised a large garden and she canned lots of fruits and vegetables. They also raised four sons — Ronald, Steven, Vern and Mark. Marian has 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She is a long-time member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Williams.
After retirement Marian and Wain loved to go trout fishing in northeast Iowa.
She loves to cook, sew and dance. She danced every week for over 10 years in her 70s and 80s
She still lives at home and loves her yard and flowers.
