Cub Scout Pack 583 of Hamilton County and Boy Scout Troop 17 of Webster City recently hosted a food drive at local grocery stores throughout Hamilton County.

The Scouts collected 1,514 items for Upper Des Moines Opportunity in Webster City, 265 items for the food pantry in Jewell and 166 items for the food pantry in Stratford. With the cash donations received during the food drive, the Scouts went to Fareway and Hy-Vee in Webster City on May 4, and were taught about being thrifty and purchased more items for Upper Des Moines Opportunity.
