‘A good transition’
As Tindall prepares to retire, Heffernan buys practice
A long time Webster City chiropractic clinic recently changed hands as Dr. Michael Tindall gets ready to retire.
Tindall has been practicing in Webster City for the past 37 years. He purchased the practice of Dr. J.W. Jones in 1984. At that time, the practice was located on Second Street. The clinic moved to its present location at 1527 Superior St. on Superior Street Memorial Day weekend 1996.
Heffernan joined the practice about four years ago, Tindall said, with the intention of making a transition when he retires. Tindall sold the practice to Heffernan in January 2021.
“The new sign reflects that transition,” Tindall said, referring to the Heffernan Chiropractic sign posted in front of the building.
“We just wanted to let people know what was going on,” Tindall said. He is still taking appointments and seeing patients at this time, but plans to retire at the end of February 2022.
Heffernan, who is originally from Eagle Grove, was practicing in Minneapolis for three years, but wanted to get back closer to home.
“This has just worked really smoothly and people have gotten to know him over the past four years,” Tindall said. “I think this has been a good transition.”
“I’m just thankful. It’s been a fun four years with Dr. Tindall,” he said. “It’s just great to have somebody like to learn from and have as a mentor.
Tindall said plans to stay active once he retires. He said he looks forward to traveling more and he also plans to continue working on stained glass and woodworking projects. He has a stained glass studio where he repairs old transom windows. He would also like to learn how to bevel glass and has found a craftsman who can teach him those skills.
‘It’s a great hobby,” he said..
