Council to meet Monday
The City Council of Webster City will face a brief agenda Monday night as they meet in regular session.
The public can join the meeting by logging onto the Zoom platform by using the meeting ID 810 7869 9769 or by watching the meeting live on the city’s Facebook page.
The council will hear the second reading of a proposed change of use in the M-1 zoning district. The amended ordinance would allow a kennel for boarding, daycare and grooming of dogs. The request came from the Paw Print Pad LLC. The business is looking to purchase a parcel of land on Commerce Drive.
The second request came from Mike Henely of Webster City who plans to lease a portion of property from the city on the west side of White Fox Road. The ordinance amendment would allow Henely to operate an outdoor radio-controlled car race track.
The council is expected to approve the requests and then waive the third reading to pass and adopt the amendment.
In a related matter, the council is expected to enter into a lease agreement with Henely for the use of the city-owned property.
A Motion from the water plant superintendent to make repairs to the Contraflow Carrier at the Water Plant through WesTech Engineering Inc. is also on the agenda. The cost for the repairs are estimated to be $22,477.
A change order for the 2020 Sewer Rehabilitation and Repair Project in the amount of $14,770.90 is also on the agenda.
The council will consider another change order for the 2020 electrical underground conversion project in the amount of $44,538.05.
A motion on a request from Finance Director Dodie Wolfgram for the purchase of digital radios for the street department, city manager and assistant city manager will be considered.
