The Webster City Athletics Hall of Fame welcomed three new members last night, as Doug Godown, Ryan Reasland and Katie (Niggemeyer) Bradley were honored during Boom Night festivities at Lynx Field.

WCHS football coach Bob Howard presented the 46th, 47th and 48th members with their plaques, and all three addressed the crowd. They thanked their former teammates, coaches and teachers for helping them achieve their successes, both while at WCHS and during their lives.

Godown, a member of the Class of 1970, was a member of the 1968 WCHS 880-yard relay that won the Drake Relays title in a school record time of 1:30.4. Godown was a six-time North Central Conference champion and three-time state medalist on the track, and he was also a part of three additional Drake Relays qualifiers that placed fifth or better.

An accomplished football player as well, Godown went on to run track at Iowa State University and the University of Iowa.

Reasand, a 1993 WCHS graduate, was a three-sport standout for the Lynx, and later a Hall of Famer at Cornell College.

Reasland was a three-time state wrestling qualifier and two-time state runner-up at 189 pounds during his WCHS career. He was also a two-time all-state football player, once at linebacker and once at running back, for legendary head coach Dick Tighe.

Reasland was a Division III national wrestling runner-up and bronze medalist during his career at Cornell, where he also earned all-conference honors on the football field. In 1997, he was named Cornell’s Male Athlete of the Year, and in 2015 he was inducted into the Rams’ Hall of Fame.

Bradley, a 2005 graduate of WCHS, also competed in multiple sports, but the volleyball court was her domain. All-conference and all-state for WCHS, she was a Top 75 national recruit as a senior and earned a scholarship to play for Wichita State. She started for four years for the Shockers and helped the team win three Missouri Valley Conference championships. They reached the NCAA Tournament all four years.

Bradley was also a multiple-time state track and field qualifier as a prep.

As a volleyball coach in Arizona, Bradley led Leading Edge Academy to three Canyon Athletic Association state championships, and she was named Coach of the Year three times as well.

Started in the summer of 2008, the WCHS Athletics Hall of Fame honors several athletes each year. It began with a class of 14.

Starting at $3.46/week.
