Crestview celebrates nursing home week

Crestview Senior Living celebrated National Nursing Home Week with a Mother’s Day potluck dinner and a western theme. A huge crowd enjoyed the dinner and the program by Melissa Borer and Mark Gillette.
Hilman Skiye and Paul Asmus helped with the western decorations for the celebration.
Hazel Clave, 103, was recognized as the oldest resident. She’s just a few weeks older than Gertrude Parker. Mrs. Clave's daughter, Judith Layng of Charlottesville, VA. attended the celebration.
Frances Van Langen’s daughter Nancy Coffee of Eldorado Hills, Calif. won the prize for traveling the farthest to attend. Mary Helen Smith won the prize for most family members present.
Crestview officials thanked all the family and friends who attended the Mother’s Day event.
Scott, Johnson wed in Illinois

Annual hog roast is Saturday
The public is invited to the Annual Southfield Wellness Community Hog Roast. scheduled for Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The meal will consist of pork sandwiches, potato salad, baked beans, bars and beverages.
